Tuft & Needle is excited to involve our customers directly with our 2020 community giving through a new campaign aimed to support making sure kids nationwide have a bed to sleep in.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national nonprofit that builds and delivers beds to children who don’t have beds to sleep in. Many of these children have been sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.
As of November 2019, the organization has 200 chapters around the United States and has built over 35,000 beds.
Over the last year and a half, we’ve increased our support of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and we’re looking forward to growing that partnership nationwide in 2020.
Some highlights from our partnership so far include developing a custom 6” mattress that safely fits on their bed frame design, and donating over hundreds of mattresses and sheet sets to both local SHP chapters and through their partnership with Lowe’s Rose Bowl Build.
What’s next for our partnership?
A bed is not complete without bedding. During conversations with founder Luke Mickelson, we discovered that one of their greatest needs and expenses was bedding. While some chapters have a large portion of bedding donated, there are a lot of chapters that have to spend a large portion of donated funds on sheets.
Tuft & Needle is dedicated to helping SHP with their greatest financial strain, and we’re bringing our customers along with us.
During 2020, we will be donating a set of sheets to SHP for every Hybrid Mattress purchased through our website and stores. SHP has big goals in 2020—to build over 40,000 bunk bed frames. How many sets of sheets can we donate and give to kids who may be getting to sleep in their very first bed ever?
